Blue
By: Audrey Yang
The sky. The ocean. The farthest realms we can see above and at some points, below. Blue, one of the most common colors on the Earth also represents objects that are rarest. Lapis Lazuli. The rare earth mineral, visible as a rich, deep blue. One of the primary colors that we use to create all other hues. But until recently, the pigment went unnamed. Blue. Not existing in Greek, nor Chinese, nor Japanese, and not even in Hebrew. A tone of color, but also of sadness. A feeling when you are unhappy, color that signifies loyalty. Polls say the world’s favorite color is blue. Blue encompasses it all.
